01About these terms

These terms apply to your use of https://www.switchcore.co.za (the “website”), operated by Switchcore Electrical Distributors (“Switchcore”, “we”, “us”). By using the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

These terms cover the website only. Any quotation we send you, and any sale that follows, is governed by the terms set out in that quotation or otherwise agreed with you in writing.

02Product information

We take care to describe products accurately, but product information on the website, including names, model numbers, types, photos and downloadable information sheets, is based on manufacturers’ published information and is provided for general guidance only.

• Manufacturers may change specifications, appearance, model numbers or availability without notice.
• Some photos are representative of a product range, and the model you order may look different. Where this applies, we say so on the product page.
• Information sheets may cover a manufacturer’s whole range rather than a single model.
• Our buying guides explain general engineering principles. They are not professional engineering advice for your specific installation.

Before you order, please confirm that a product is suitable for your application, and make sure electrical equipment is selected, installed and maintained by suitably qualified people in line with the applicable regulations and the manufacturer’s instructions.

03Prices, quotations and orders

• The website does not show prices and does not sell products online.
• Sending a quotation request or an enquiry does not create a contract and does not oblige you or us to buy or sell anything.
• A quotation we send you is subject to the terms, validity period and conditions stated in it. Prices, stock and delivery times are only confirmed in a written quotation or order confirmation from us.
• We may decline to quote or supply, for example if a product is no longer available.

04Quote basket and forms

The quote basket stores the products you select in your own browser until you send a quotation request. Our privacy policy explains how we handle the information you send us.

When you use our forms, please give accurate details and only send requests for genuine business purposes. We may ignore or block requests that appear to be spam, automated or abusive.

05Manufacturers and trademarks

All manufacturer names, brand names, logos and product names shown on the website are trademarks of their respective owners. Product images and information sheets remain the property of their owners.

We show them to identify the products we can quote for. Their use does not mean that a manufacturer endorses Switchcore or the website, that we are affiliated with it, or that we are its authorised or official distributor, unless we expressly say so.

06Our content

Apart from manufacturers’ material described above, the content of the website, including its text, design, layout and our own images, belongs to Switchcore or is used with permission.

You may view, download and print pages and information sheets for your own business use, such as evaluating products or preparing an order. You may not copy, republish, sell or systematically extract content from the website without our written permission.

07Acceptable use

When you use the website, you must not:

• use it for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
• try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or any connected system;
• introduce viruses or other malicious code, or interfere with the website’s operation or security;
• use automated tools to scrape the catalogue or to send forms; or
• impersonate another person or company.

08Availability of the website

We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or remove any part of it, including products listed, at any time.

09Our liability

To the extent permitted by law, Switchcore is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its content, including indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of data.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability or any right you have that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where it applies to you.

10Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, how we use it and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute about them will be dealt with by the South African courts with jurisdiction.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and the version on the website when you use it is the one that applies.
